The Company Dad Kept
A Beau to Beau romance
EXCERPT:
Maxwell was greeted by a kiss as he was joined on the deck. “Good morning,
Max. What time does Nick’s plane come in?” “Three this afternoon.” “I will
make one of my gourmet meals then.” “That would be wonderful. Thank you.”
Just then the phone rang, and Maxwell went inside to answer it. He returned to
the deck and said, “Well, Nick’s arrival couldn’t have come at a better time. I
need to go to the office for a little while. If Nick calls, tell him I’ll pick
him up at the airport.” “Will do, and I will see you later.” “I’ll stop by
before I leave for the airport,” Max assured.
The drive to the office was
twenty minutes now instead of the all too familiar hour and a half that Max had
driven for too long. He was one of the lucky ones, and he knew it. Nick’s
mother had died when Nick was very young, so Nick had been spared the knowledge
of his father’s unhappiness. Max had had a few relationships during Nick’s
formative years, but he had been very discreet. It wasn’t until Nick had left for
college that Max had found the love of his life.
The past eight years had been
the best years of Maxwell’s life. He had met someone on a vacation, but the two
of them had kept their relationship a secret from Nick at Max’s request. For
the past three years, however, the two of them had been living together in this
beautiful place on the lake that was now their home.

After they had left, Chauncey
turned to Max and hugged him. “I love you,” he said, and kissed Max. “Mm, you
know what I like,” Max said. “Oh, yeah, what is it that you like?” Chauncey
teasingly asked, as he pulled Max even closer holding his tight butt in his
hands. Max put his hands on Chauncey’s ass. “All of this back here is what I
like,” Max said, as he squeezed Chauncey’s bountiful butt. Chauncey was a big
man and Max loved every inch of him.
Kate had left her purse in the kitchen and
was waiting in the living room, having heard the two of them when she walked
in. “Knock, knock,” she said, pretending to have just come in the door.
“Forgot my purse.” She then walked into the kitchen, having given the two of
them time to know that she was there. “The food was so good, I guess I must
have lost my head,” she said, and smiled sweetly.
They heard the door close,
and the car pull out of the driveway. Max sat down. “Damn, you don’t think she
heard anything, Chauncey?”
